little boy gratitude

each night before they go to sleep, the boys say their prayers, which really breaks down to a list of things from the day they are thankful for. i want them to grow up knowing they are blessed and to be able to sift through the little things from their day to find things to be grateful for.

though not something i would normally share on the blog, my conversation with turbo one night is worth sharing. i share because i can see he’s starting to get it. and when he gets it, it means i’m doing my job right. and for that, i am thankful.

these prayers were pre-montana trip…

turbo : i’m thankful we go to montana tomorrow. i’m thankful for God. and for Jesus. i’m thankful for our house and a mommy and daddy that help us grow.

me : i’m thankful for little boys to love.

turbo : …oh! i forgot dessert.

me : well, you could be thankful for dessert i guess.

turbo : no. i wanted some tonight…{silence}…oh! i know! HUGS! hugs are like dessert! hugs and kisses are like dessert!

to which i responded with hugs and kisses…for dessert 😉
