my life as i live it . a daily dose

oh, daily dose, how i want to be sleeping right now! ;o) after two long days of roadtripping we. have. arrived. and while i’m sitting here typing, my eyelids are heavy but my heart is light. and if it’s possible for it to be smiling right now…it is my good people. it. is.

as i sit here at the kitchen table, in the kitchen i grew up in, i can look out, see the gorgeous bridger mountains, hear my boys giggling with their grama, and my dad and lover talking shop across the table from me, a hot cup of coffee in hand and life is good. really good.

i’m going to make this daily dose short and sweet and share a few highlights from the drive because the voices of my playing boys are calling and so is my bed!

our launch time on wednesday morning…only 39 minutes later than planned…i tell you, i am NEVER ready for trips when i think i should be!

the boys and their maps…a success everytime they began to wonder where we were…

swimming at the hotel…post-hot-tub-incident {see below}

a stop at a cute little diner for dinner called the ‘one man band’ diner. you seat yourselves, make your selections and call your order into the cook from a phone at your table. great food, great concept! the real trick?…keeping your antsy 4-year-old from prank calling the cook!

we were greeted by snow across the idaho-montana border…i’m not going to lie, a bit shocking for the end of may, even if it is montana!

we hadn’t been in town very long before we had to bust out the bikes and give ’em a ride on the open road…

other highlights *

  • sunshine asking to ‘tuwn-awound. go home.’ an hour and a half into our drive
  • only playing one movie the entire 18 hour drive {oh, yeah baby! that just happened!}
  • turbojet falling into the hot tub at the hotel…fully clothed! {note : he was trying to be ‘light as a feather’}
  • maintaining our sanity
  • a snowy drive through the mountains at the end of may
  • arriving!

on a note that has absolutely NOTHING what-so-ever to do with our trip and has EVERYTHING to do with me complaining to you for just a second. i try to not be too much of a complainer, so i’m going to take a deep breath and get it all out in one long run-on {and on, and on…} sentence. here we go…

Kathy - You are so adorable! And everything looks great on my computer, so either it wasn’t as bad as you thought or you figured it out. Either way – lovely!
