my life as i live it . a daily dose

from now on (*fingers crossing here just a little bit!*) friday blog posts are going to take hold of the random thoughts that have been squirrelling around in my head, images that i love and feel like sharing, and anything else random i can muster to share to send you riding off into your glorious weekend!

so without further adieu . a daily dose

if there’s one thing, one tiny-teeny thing (*outside of personal character, integrity, honesty, etc.*) that i’m diligently trying to instill in my boys, it’s a love of books. of reading. of sitting down quietly and letting the story and your imagination take you away. that being said, images like these of sunshine and turbojet already sharing these moments makes my heart smile!

i love this song. you should listen. ear candy. fun. love it. sing to it. heck, dance to it if no one is watching! or even better, if they are, just do it. you’ll feel much happier. trust me.

let your kids make a mess. let them explore. learn. create. take a deep breath, you can do it. it’s worth it. promise.

if this smile doesn’t tell you it’s worth it to let them get messy and create . . . well, then frankly, nothing will!

today, turbojet and i made pretzels. big ones. mall style. i’m not a baker—or a cooker for that matter—but i am a creator and a go-getter, and when my blue-eyed little man wants to make big pretzels for lunch, i oblige. so we stirred and kneaded and raised and rolled and baked, and we got ’em done. and you guys? they ROCKED the mall pretzels off the boat. not tooting my horn or anything, but seriously: they rocked. what’s that? you want the recipe? wish granted!

our pool is so close to being ready it’s not even funny. the boys have been itching to take a dip for the past month or so, but the temperature just hasn’t crept up enough to heat the water to a bearable warmth. soon, little water babies. soon. sunshine has been especially itchy to swim, so we checked it out the other night and did some splashing.

but alas, it’s still not ready. maybe this weekend? perhaps.

thanks for reading the premiere post of ‘a daily dose,’ and off you go! into your glorious weekend. what will you make it?
