nesting

nesting * the tendency to arrange one’s immediate surroundings, to create a place where one feels secure, comfortable, or in control

most women nest by cleaning.  me?  i’m choosing to uproot our home and paint our kitchen, of all things, prior to baby’s upcoming arrival {two weeks, EEK!}  illogical?  untimely?  perhaps.  but i’m allowed… can i get an amen sista’?  won’t you be nice and share how you nested {or are nesting…}  when you were expecting, so that i can feel a little less off my rocker? and now, i’m off to destroy clean and make beautiful my kitchen…

Jackie - I *HEART* NESTING! And, I wish I could get that instinctual rush monthly!! (Garrett would probably kill me though, because a lot of my nesting comes with – “Garrett you need to…”)
I tended to wash (the ceiling fans to the base boards), organize, reorganize, and then wash it again…I often got that creative bug to take on projects too – luckily I took it out on his nursery and did some painting…
Maybe someday I’ll get to nest again! 🙂
Enjoy these last days of your pregnancy, and I wish you a quick and painless delivery of beautiful baby #3!
xoxo

stacey - stephanie, you have relieved lover somewhat, he’s feeling MUCH more grateful that i’m only painting and NOT remodeling…ha! and tonya, i can’t IMAGINE moving when expecting! we just had friends move weeks before their daughter was born, but they managed to pull it all together…even with their 3 boys! ah the nesting instinct, gotta love it! {ps…mama, trying to eliminate chaos before it arrives! hee!}

Your Mama - Silly girl, you could at least wait until I get there to help.

Stephanie - I can totally relate Stacey! I have been nesting for quite sometime now. I completely remodeled our kitchen, new cupboards, tile and paint. I also painted our dining room and living room. I am ready for this baby to arrive! In the recent days I have been making my husband move furniture! Hope you enjoy your newly painted kitchen! And my best wishes to you during your last days of your pregnancy!

Tonya Lewis - Well, with my first child and my third I moved right before we had them, which WAS a bit….INSANE!!! But this last time we had our church come unpack us and then I nested like I did with my second…washing EVERYTHING in the house, two or three times (shower curtain, stuffed animals, couch pillows…everything!) and I swept, mopped and vacuumed every night. 😉 I’m super excited to hear about your precious baby’s grand entrance into the world!!! Now you go paint your kitchen! Sounds fun 🙂
