old experiences made new

i’ve discovered i’m not good at this blogging + vacationing combo i’ve got going on here. i’ve got good intentions, honest! lots to share, stories to tell, but when it breaks right down to it…well, i’m in vacation mode 😀 but no more! too much to share tonight. our adventures have led us from bozeman, to boise, up to seattle, and onward still to orcas island where i currently sit tip-tapping away. out the picturesque windows i can see down the mountain and out to the ocean, a plane of glass with a mere ripple on it’s surface and the sun sinking into the tip of the island beyond…at 9:45pm no less. a brilliant pink cloud winks at me as i type and the world is peaceful and still…mostly because my hyperactive, exhausted, sugar induced children are finally getting all up in their visions of sugar plums, but partially, because this side of the world is tucking in for the night and life is good.

boise, idaho!

my handsome nephew turned the big 0-1! 😀

oh how i wish i lived closer to my little p*man! wouldn’t it be grand to watch these two grow up together! another little boy to protect my sweet pea along with her big brothers 🙂

{at 2 months older than sweet pea, p*man is almost a full head taller…see what i mean? he could easily thump any boy that gets too fresh with my baby girl!} 🙂

after party and father’s day celebrations included go carts, arcades and homemade apple pie…and if you have little boys {heck, if you have big boys} all of that = heaven. heaven, i say!

{sunshine and i lost the race to lover and turbo due to an unfair car choice. our car sounded something like : putt-puff-cough-pow! and pedal-to-the-metal was just not cutting it. we’ll get you next time suckers, ha!}

the apple pie gets it’s own acknowledgement. it was turbo’s father’s day idea from the get-go. he planned it weeks in advance not-so-quietly whispering his plans into my ear about how he so BADLY wanted to make this pie for his daddy on father’s day. i think it turned out beautifully. full of apples. and full of love.

and oh, lover! your reaction. you made that little boy’s day. what a wonderful daddy you are to my little babies. they are blessed.

seattle, washington!

oh, seattle! you didn’t disappoint. in less than a day, we managed to squeeze in visits with longtime friends, a private boat tour of lake union and lake washington, ate ivar’s famous fish and chips, perused pike’s place market, saw the hallowed ground of the first ever starbucks, viewed the space needle, etc. etc.

whew! like i said, did not disappoint. not at all. and i think lover, the boys and sweet pea were all pleased with their first whirlwind tour of seattle.

 {i’d be lying if i told you the boat ride wasn’t FREEZING COLD. in true seattle fashion, we were misted on the entire time in a cool 50 degrees.}

it’s safe to say the boys are getting worn out. i have proof. proof that makes me want to say, “my what a big baby you have.”

“the better comic relief for you my dear.”

it’s been so fun to watch the boys and sweet pea on this vacation. old experiences are made new through the eyes of our children and that really is unbeatable! i feel so blessed to be watching their eyes open to new experiences each and every day this summer. from go carts to boat rides to island exploration, their joy is uncontainable! orcas island in the next post, but for now, good night!

delightfully,

patti - Looks like you had a wonderful time ! Great pictures, can’t wait to see you back in Bozeman!!
