dearest blog {and blog readers},

summer has sucked me into all it’s summery goodness.  i have been neglecting you and have traded you out like an old pair of shoes, replacing you with sunshine and swimming, staying up late and enjoying the company of family and friends {shame on me!}  so here i am on bended knees, crawling back to you, begging your forgiveness and searching for words to inspire, to stir up your love of life {you know it’s in there} and to blend, you {my beloved blog} with all that summery goodness!

and now a much needed daily dose!

last week, i attempted to type up the daily dose via my hotel room in fargo, north dakota enroute to shoot a wedding in minnesota.  well…THAT obviously didn’t happen.  it felt good to be back in fargo.  in a town that somehow managed to feel fresh and new, and yet still feel as comfy and familiar as my favorite pair of sweats {apparently, clothing analagies are the “in” thing this daily dose…}

and then?  we visited my alma mater.  a quick trek around the NDSU campus jogged my memory and brought back the days of studio and coffee and varsity mart and friends; late nights and presentations and professors that all culminated in a flash-four years, a degree in interior design and a new lease on life.  i got to take a walk down memory lane, flashed my camera as sunshine blipped in and out of familiar buildings, reminisced about old projects and visited old friends.  i love how our past can resurface and remind us of why we are the way we are; the people we are today.

of course we skipped over to lover’s alma mater as well, concordia college…

isn’t it wonderful to have friends?  and isn’t it even MORE wonderful to have friends that have creative talents you can tap?  i think YES!  erin of erin kaye photography and i have continued our tradition of family portrait swapping and i am BEYOND grateful for the images she’s captured of both my beautiful little family {ahem, circus show!} and my baby bump!  please go check them out and leave her some bloggy love!  i get to return the favor on sunday!  yay for friends and yay for traditions!

i’ve officially decided on a diaper bag for baby numero tres {much to the distress of lover…”do you really NEED another diaper bag?”  yes, lover.   i NEED it.  the baby NEEDS it.  hehehe…}  hot mama hand bags ended up being the winner!  can’t WAIT to get it in the mail!  {ps…is there anything more grand than receiving something in the mail?!  i heart, HEART, HEART getting mail!…end sidenote}
