daily dose * livin’ life

life is crazy. like, *hey guys, it’s me. life. did you know tomorrow it’s may? like, may 1st may. yeah, it is.* and here i sit internalizing the statement life just made. digesting it. and i feel something along the lines of, *what the…?! where did january, february, march and april just run off to?!* leaving me here hanging. wanting more. more of the year. do you realize that in one month {just ONE} we’ll be 1/2 way through the year? half. way. more proof that we should be taking charge of each and every day. grabbing each day by it’s horns and wrestling it to the ground steer wrestler-style, whispering into it’s ear who’s boss and living each tiny moment to it’s fullest. let’s live. our lives. right now. no deep thoughts today, just us livin’ life…

daily dose!

i can’t. get. enough. of her. sweet pea is the smiliest most happy baby, EV-ER. and i’m not just saying that because i’m her mama. she really is that. happy!

turbo’s a helper at heart. he’s ready and willing {SO willing} to help with anything and everything. and when he dives in, he dives in hard to the beat of 3 million questions per second 🙂 i can only hope his helping spirit remains as he continues to grow!

{painting the nooks in our entry…want to make your kid happy? give him {or her} a paint tray, a roller and a ladder and tell him to go for it. you’d think it was Christmas! :)}

it rained last week. when it rains here, we celebrate in any way we can! this time, the boys chose a walk. coffee in hand, sweet pea and i meandered down the walk…

…while the boys zipped ahead.

i found this along the way. the color, texture and haphazard pattern make me happy.

i’m SO excited to post our first giveaway on the blog {unfortunately for my non-local readers you won’t be able to cash in…next time! i’m working on it!}

you may or may not know that my background lies in design, interior and architecture. you also may or may not know, i have a weak spot for vintage furniture. you know the old, chipped up furniture that usually gets a nasty look and a turned up nose? when i see that furniture, i see potential and a fun project waiting to come alive {proof : there are 2 pieces in my garage right now waiting to be refinished and given new life!}

i’ve lived in the valley of the sun for seven years, and it’s hard to find a good place to antique and soak up all the vintage-y goodness that i know and love from living up north. well, guess what? i’ve finally {FINALLY} found an event that’s going to feed this need for the vintage-y, antique-y goodness i’ve been craving for the last 7 years! allow me to introduce you to the junk in the trunk vintage market. yes, i said, vintage. market.

the market is this weekend {may 5th}, doors open at 9am, and they’re offering 2 entry passes to one lucky {randomly chosen} comment below…tell me about your life as you live it right now. the winner will be announced on wednesday!

happy, happy day!

Celeste - Who won the giveaway?? =)

Pam Serbin - Missed the first Junk in the Trunk Market so I am even more excited to make it to this one now that I know what I missed the first time! Free entry would make it even more exciting tho!

Life as I live it – I am a mom of 2 adult children (son and daughter) and my daughter-in-law is taking me to the sale. I work for Chase bank and am counting down my days until retirement. Love spending time with my kids and hope to have grandkids soon! Thanks for hosting the give-away! See you at the sale!

Sheila Prosser - I have been looking forward to the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market since the last one!! I had so much fun browsing at all the neat stuff…stuff that took me back to my childhood days or reminded me of my grandmother’s place!

Life as I live it – I work for DPS and love what I do for work because it makes me feel like I am making a difference, but I often work 60 hours a week. Whenever I am not working, I love spending time with my grandkids, I have 1 grandson and 5 granddaughters! They are so much fun! We spend a lot of time going to yard sales and the 99 Cent store looking for treasures, so I am excited that 2 of them will be able to come with me to the Junk in the Trunk sale. My Daughter is taking me and it is so fun to see how much our tastes are the same! Looking forward to a great sale. Thanks for the chance to win free tickets!

Celeste - Just found this blog on the Junk in the Trunk page! Definitely going to the market Saturday but am trying my darndest to win some free tickets because I am taking my mom, MIL, and sister/BIL!

Life as I live it right now – We bought a house a whole YEAR ago and I am still trying to get it looking and feeling like home. It’s coming along slowly by surely. So far I have decorated with everything I currently had, found some fabulous giveaways that friends were disposing of that I have fixed up…coffee tables, cute rustic stained glass decor items, etc. Hoping I can at least get my living room finished up with some cute (hopefully not too expensive) finds on Saturday! Also hoping for some outdoor furniture so when the whole family (I am one of five kids and we all have spouses and kids now too – so it’s a big bunch!) is over to our place this summer we have stuff to sit/eat/hangout around! Thanks for offering 2 free tickets!!

Shannon McDowell - I’ve been searching Phoenix for vintage to decorate our new cabin near Flagstaff. Can’t wait to see what I can find on Saturday!!

Amy - Ooo! This would be great – I’ve been following the journey Junk in the Trunk has gone through to bring this market to life and I’m so excited it’s happening – and right in my backyard! I was planning on heading over Saturday, but a pair of free tickets are always welcomed!

My life as I live it now: currently living with a few roommates who provide most of the furniture for our space. In a few months I’ll be moving into my own place and need to find furnishings… this market seems like the perfect place!

stacey - michelle! thanks for your comment! i LOVE that you’re a new SAHM…i hope you love it as much as i do! ps…so far, you are the ONLY contestant in the drawing, so cross your fingers, you just may win by default! 🙂

Michelle - Great photos! I’m a new SAHM – unexpectedly. So, I’m definitely living life in the moment and savoring each precious one with my 11 month old.
LOVE Junk in the Trunk and will be definitely going this weekend! 🙂

Kathy - Oh *MAN*!! I so wish I could live down there and take advantage of that ticket!

Enjoy and have WAY too much fun!

Lanae Brown - I second the slip and slide fun! Not only just as fun, but best ab workout ever! I think I may use the slip and slide every day this summer.
