panic. scream. release.

PANIC.

so thursday, the kids and i flew to montana {i’m convinced all great stories start with *so*} let me reiterate, the KIDS {3} and I {flyin’ solo. i’m flyin’ solo.} flew to montana. i had your usual pre-trip stress, you know, packing, organizing, getting stuff done that needed to be done before we left…and then i had PANIC. and this is the story about how you don’t ever, EVER want to be like me. ever. never ever. write that down.

it’s actually really quite simple. to not be like me you should be :

  • organized
  • responsible
  • timely
  • an adult

do these things and you will not have a panic attack when you find out at 2pm that your flight was ACTUALLY flying out at 4:30pm {not the 6:30pm you dreamt up}…annnd you live an hour and a half from the airport…annnd your hubby’s still at work…annnd your son’s still at school…annnd the airline you’re flying on only flies on thursdays and sundays…and, and, and…and you do the math.

all that added up equals PANIC and a frantic phone call to lover that went something like,

*this is the part where you start to hate me*

{note : he did not, in fact, hate me. he’s the coolest hubby ever. not once did he get mad at me or lecture me or anything other than a, *i could have checked the time too.* …he’s a keeper.}

then mad rushing around ensued. me hucking things into the van like my life depended on it, trying not to hyperventilate and/or barf,  and praying under my breath as we rocketed towards the airport with everyone and everything in tow literally 15 minutes after i sounded the alarm. bravo, team. you rocked the PANIC like you owned it.

my whispered-under-my-breath prayers were answered when we arrived at the airport to discover our flight had an hour delay…leaving us just enough wiggle room to make the flight!

SCREAM.

my relief at actually making our flight was replaced by a good hour of screaming. yeah. we were the people you did NOT want to sit by. enough said. this girl almost got left on the plane for the next flight to enjoy. gah.

RELEASE.

all worth it…for this.

the moral of the story? don’t forget to do adult things like, check your itinerary. and don’t fly with a one year old…unless you have to get home on thursday.

cheers!

Lisa - What a blessing that the flight was delayed! It’s like God smiled down on you girl and gave you just what you needed…when you needed it most!!! Hugs my friend, so glad your enjoying this part of your trip!

Amy - OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! So glad you made it…and way to go for being brave enough to fly with a one year old. ALONE! You Rock!!
