we go together like…

if you’ve been a follower of the blog for awhile now or if you know me personally, then i pre-apologize for once again flaunting our valentine’s day tradition in your face. i mean, who WOULDN’T want to celebrate their valentine’s by eating hot dogs and mac ‘n cheese every year? phish, pretty much everyone, am i right people? 🙂

i LOVE traditions like this, know why? because there’s something about a tradition that makes something not special, SPECIAL. it’s like magic!

lover and i are high school sweet hearts and married in college, and as most college students are, we were broke. and so, in our little apartment in fargo, north dakota, our hot dogs and mac ‘n cheese valentine’s tradition began and has been going ever since. it’s one of my favorites. and if you keep reading my blog, you’ll hear about it again next year, and the year after that, and the year after that… because that’s the rest of the magic of traditions, each year they become more and more and more special.

any one else out there have favorite traditions for this holiday or another?? i love to hear them!

i’m not sure if all my readers are also following me on Facebook, so at risk of repetition {and, if i’m honest, in the hope that maybe perhaps you’ll pin these for me!} here are the valentine’s the boys handed out this year.

Kathryn - I, too, love and cherish traditions! No matter how silly or corny others may think they are, we gotta live them up because they are special to us!

Also, I love that you went to school in Fargo! I’m up in good ‘ol Grand Forks! Finally, someone who can attest to our hearty, rugged winter skin to make it through the long days of winter!

stacey - well elizabeth, thank you so much for being here, for reading, for living life. your words are much appreciated! i hope to see you around more often! much love * stac

Elizabeth - Unsure how I stumbled upon your garland of words, but really enjoying what you share…from the clever Valentine’s Day treats to the hosting of a food fight (um, brilliant!) to the compassionate prayer…your posts seem very real, very heartfelt. So thanks.
